The Year of Wings
This summer is being called the summer of sequels and while I just wrote two entries about how much I am disturbed about the unoriginality in television and the rehashing of ideas, there are a few of these I have interest in seeing. Some of the sequels this summer include, “Live Free or Die Hard,” “28 Weeks Later,” “Spiderman 3,” “Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man’s Chest,” “Shrek 3,” “Hostel 2,” “Oceans 13,” and the new “Harry Potter.”
While this may be the summer of sequels, I am donning this, the “Year of Wings,” You know the popular television show from the 90’s, and while Tony Shalhoub has always been the most famous outside of Wings, many of the stars have been popping up this year.
We first noticed Steven Weber in the now defunct Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip Why was this show cancelled? Why do we need another talent show, I digress.
Then we noticed Timothy Daly in again the now cancelled The Nine, he has also had a bit part in The Sopranos and we saw him Thursday night on Grey’s Anatomy. He won’t be on Grey’s, he will be on the spinoff with Addison character Kate Walsh, and the show will be called Private Practice.
Third we have Thomas Hayden Church who is in the blockbuster, Spiderman 3. He is playing Sandman.
So as the stars from Wings keep popping up in shows today, I am calling this the “Year of Wings.”
