Dan is further making moves that just make me scratch my head.  Now he is not campaigning because Jessie and Michelle tell him he's not the target.  I don't care what anyone says I would be campaigning my butt off.

Goes to show you how much I know Dan is safe as the entire house (9) votes to evict Steven who is the second house guest to be eliminated from BB 10.

In his goodbye speech Dan tells Steven how he broke down some walls and prejudices for him and he does not see Steven as "gay Steven".  I do, you know why? The gay rodeo, that's why.

Keesha wins the HoH competition which leaves a lot of questions as to what she will do and who she will target.  Libra and her clan or the floaters (Dan, Renny, Jerry).  To tell you the truth I could care less I just want to see more drama. 

Of course Michelle likes Jessie she's that east coast type that loves meat heads.  I have spent the majority of my life on the east coast and am currently residing there so I know from experience.

Memphis is breaking free from that silly alliance of eight and trying to form a much stronger alliance that includes Steven, Jessie, Angie, Keesha and Michelle.  I just did the math and that's seven, that's way to big of an alliance in my opinion.  Raise your hand if you thought that ridiculous power of eight would last?  Those three of you with your hands raised put them down and lie. 

I think Dan is making a very stupid move, did he learn nothing from Marcus?  Rule #1 is to get yourself off the block anyway you can, when the live votes come in you want to be nowhere near those chairs.  Dan is again over thinking his moves.  He wants to appear as a weak player which isn't necessarily a bad move but he plans to not disrupt the house by winning PoV and making HoH put someone else up.  Dan picks house guests choice from the bag and chooses Libra, he did this on purpose.  I know I was scratching my head also when he did this, it was part of his plan which was even more baffling. 

This poses a question.  When getting house guests choice in the PoV do you choose someone who is a strong player who may win PoV and if they do may take you off the block, a supporter of yours? Or in Dan's case someone who will keep the nominations the same? Or, someone who can't win increasing your odds of winning?  The positives and negatives of these are obvious.  I would chose the last option, which one would you pick?

Dan's walking a fine line with this maneuver of playing weak.  I like it when he deployed this action in the HoH room while talking with Jessie.  I didn't like it at any point during the PoV competition where he does actually throw the challenge.  Stupidddddddddd, your so stupidddddddddd? Can anyone name the movie that came from.  I will give $1 to the first person who knows.

Ha ha, during the PoV competition, Libra gives up the opportunity to win a slop pass because she would have been eliminated from the challenge had she done it and wanted to appear strong for her team.  Very mature and discipline move,  The funny part comes when Libra legitimately loses on the very next question.  It would love to see Libra on three straight weeks of slop.  She's already starting to lose it and it's been a week and a half.  However, I would bet next week is a slop free week.  Michelle wins PoV and will likely keep the nominations the same.

It is now more than half way through the show and we have our first Ollie sighting, he was eating and had no lines.  For a second, I forgot he was still in the house.

A back door plan is in motion and Libra is at the end of that door.  Shame I like Libra but I also love the move.  These house guests are collectively as a whole and simultaneously, playing the best and worst games of Big Brother history.  Libra does need to get home to her kids. He he.

With the way Jerry's getting heated over Libra calling him an old fart it might not be too long before the paramedics are needed.  I'm now taking bets (not really) on if the paramedics will be needed this season, for who and what day?  I've got yes, Jerry and day 23.  Jerry's a mean old man why am I surprised?

The fight with Libra by both old farts Jerry and Renny was pretty funny.  Renny is a complete moron. She totally needs her own reality show!

Wow, Michelle ends up not using the PoV after Jessie, HoH asks her to so they can back door Libra.  Michelle didn't want to use it because she felt she would be sticking her neck out and didn't want to rock the boat.  She obviously didn't realize it but now she's in more trouble then had she use it.  If this insurgence is strong then Dan should go home which makes his move in the PoV really dumb like I stated.

Will Dan be the second house guests sent packing? Find out tonight.

Funny how Jessie claims to have Brains that match his brawn, think about that statement for a second, that would make him like 4 times smarter than Einstein.   It has taken less than a few hours under Jessie's regime for there to be a coup without any resistance which by definition would not be accurate.  Jessie's brain has been taken out and instead Libra is controlling the ship.  Note so is Memphis only the way he is doing it is more subtle.  Brian was with what he said about Brian being the threat if he plays his cards right and so far Memphis is.

I expect there to be a few people who will be outraged that Jerry is on this show and he left a sick wife at home just like they did with Libra for leaving her 5 month old's to play this game.  Before you get ready to hang Jerry he could be playing to pay those hospital bill which I am sure will be obscene.  I was at work the other day and cut my finger pretty good or bad.  I had to go to the hospital because I was certain it would need a stitch.  It didn't because there was no skin to sew together.  Don't worry it's healing well.  Anyway all I ended up getting at the hospital was a very nice bandage and a tetanus shot.  Guess how much the bill ended up costing?  If you said over $800 you get the gold star of the day.  How much do you think treating a woman for cancer is going to cost when a band-aid and a shot will cost you nearly $1,000.  That's just not right. The point is leave Jerry alone you wouldn't want to walk a step in his shoes.

So Renny is indeed not nominated, big shocker.  I also bet that if one of the two nominees Steve and Dan win PoV, Renny will still not not go up.  Need more proof Jessie is not running things this week, the week he HoH. 

While Brian was doing his whole puppet show and one of the other house guests had an April sock puppet and they blurred out the April sock puppets breasts.  I hope your proud of yourselves soccer mom's and dads who would much rather explain erectile dysfunction to their children then a nipple which EVERYONE has, two of to be exact.  A rare few have three but one is superfluous.  Just writing that word made me laugh to myself out loud, and yes I had to use spell check to get that spelling correct.

Did you think the black jive talking sock puppet was racist? A little? A lot?  I do.  The black sock I get and give a pass on even though I have no pass to give, but what was with the jive talking?  Ollie does not talk in jive.

Meanwhile after he crammed a whole games worth of moves into one week, Brian's not going down without a fight and has toned it down a million notches.  He's still back to playing smart and reserved.  He's learned that he has to let the game come to him sometimes although he may have learned his lesson too late.    If he does survive the house guests will be sorry.

Libra is a very well spoken and intelligent person.  She is a major threat and is emerging as one of my favorites early on.  Especially with her response to Julie's question about a backlash towards Libra due to her leaving her 5 month old twins at home, she also will need to take the lesson Brian learned and tone it down a bit, don't let others see you coming at all times, this is hard to do once you've already showed what a force you can be and then switch tracks and take a back seat for a while.  Brian tried and got drunk on his own power.

Speaking of Brian, I really liked his speech prior to the live vote, even though it was part of his game it still felt genuine to me, man what could have been had he not played the game so hard.  I would have predicted a great battle between Libra, Memphis and Brian, all triple threats.

Now that I think about it, I think it would have been an even better move had Libra and April gone with Ollie, Dan and Brian knowing that you can manipulate Ollie you would have had the numbers in an alliance of five rather than 8.  That is a much bigger mom to try and control.  All is for not because Brian is indeed sent packing with the lone vote for him coming from Dan who on the outset I didn't like for his forgiveness comment but he has shown he is a very loyal individual, I like that.

He is in trouble however because Jessie won HoH and while he is a big strong man, I predict he will be easy to push around and make him go with the numbers just like Jerry did. I predict bad times for Dan this week and Renny, again.

First of all, who in the hell does Brian think he is? The Godfather?  In a conversation with Memphis, Brian tells him that he will guarantee his safety for three weeks, but in the meantime if he comes to Memphis for a favor, Memphis must oblige.  It's way too early to be doing stuff like that.  With this many people in the house, you have no control.  What? He thinks he's a big shot with an alliance of three and Jerry in his pocket.  Someone is a bit full of themselves aren't they?

When it comes to Renny, Brian wants to giver her a pass because he thinks she can self destruct any week.  It's thinking like that which allows a person to make it deep into the game and then a turning point comes when you keep that person not because of their weakness in game play but because you think you can beat them in the end.  It happens in every reality program without fail.  If the person you want to get rid of over the weak player is such a threat, they will eventually get theirs so go after that weak person so they stick around no longer than they should.  Even in two different seasons of Survivor when that strong person made it to the end they ended up not winning in the end.  It happened in season 2 with Colby who won every individual immunity and made it to the final two but lost the votes.  It also happened in Exile Island with Terry who was a force but only made it to the final three.  The point is you will have an opportunity to take out that threat so don't let that weakling survive any longer than necessary.

The veto competition had the house guests rolling around in honey and ripping through pillows.  Of course Jessie the physical specimen won.  This competition was suited for him.  If you think The producers have no say in who goes further than others you are sadly mistaken.  This is an instance where they pick a game they know so and so can win.  What if instead they chose to do a puzzle?  Jessie would not fare as well.  This is how the producers decide fates of the contestants.  Memphis is a little too eager as he came in second and after winning the first competition is showing he is a very strong player.  He needs to tone it down a bit.

Speaking of Jessie is it just me or does he have a tiny head?  It doesn't help that he has very large muscles.  A little too large if you ask me.

Last post I spoke about how I disliked Dan because he plans to sin and ask for forgiveness because he knows it will be granted.  On the opposite side, you have Ollie who is the son of a preacher man, (does anyone else hear Dusty Springfield)?  Anyway, Ollie pulls no punches with talking about how he will do anything to win but does not talk about his plan for doing it with the premeditated plan of knowing he can get forgiveness for whatever he does so he can do anything he wants.  I like Ollie, he is my new favorite now that Brian blew his load.

Ollie led an insurgence against Brian right to Jerry's door where he and seven of his fellow house guests threaten Jerry into putting Brian up in Jessie's place when Jessie takes himself off the block because he won the power of veto.  In my opinion this group of eight should have kept their mouths shut and let Brian think he is in control and taken it out from under his feet.  What if they did not convince Jerry and he took it out on one of them instead?  In my head they had two other options which had less of a risk of coming back on them.  Since they have the numbers they could have either obliged Brian and got out a very strong Memphis, they would still have seven in the alliance, a majority.  Or they could have let Jerry nominate Memphis and evict Renny, she is an outsider anyway.  Sure with that option you lose the possibility of strong arming pulling a Brian and God Fathering her but all in all it is a safer move then ruffling the feathers of Jerry  and possibly getting burned by that decision.  Now even though you got Jerry to do your bidding there is an unnecessary edge in the house and with Jerry that not needed to be there.

I really need to get onto one of these shows and show how it should be done.  You can be aggressive and in control without overplaying your hand and sticking your neck out.  For reference look hoe Cirie from Survivor was able to accomplish this.  Need another example?  How about Danielle from Big Brother past?  Neither of these two ladies won any of the four total times they played the game between them, but other than Richard Hatch, these two ladies were the best master manipulators I have seen play reality competitions.

Back to Brian, he says he has some tricks up his sleeve, but unless he is talking about breakfast cereal he has no chance.

Big Brother is back tomorrow with the live eviction and HoH competition.  Will the power of eight reign supreme?

Enough about my sorry ass, lets get onto the good stuff.

Big Brother is back and for the first time in 7 seasons no one in the house has any previous relationship with anyone else or so were told and led to believe.

I like the beginning twist voting on the first HoH before they even say a word to anyone based upon looks alone. I also appreciate the way they waited to inform the house guests of who won HoH for a little while. This forced everyone to be on their best behavior because they didn't know who would determine their fate for the first week and if they pissed someone off that person could be HoH and evict their ass. I wish they would have held out even longer to tell them who is HoH, maybe even right up until the point just before the HoH was to make nominations.

As to any favorites or  non favorites I have after the premiere episode.  I don't have any favorites as of yet but I sure do have someone I don't like.  Can you guess who that is?  If you guessed Renny you would be wrong.   If you guessed Dan the Catholic School Teacher, you are a winner of the gold star.   It's not because he seems like a weasel.  Once again it because of his beliefs.  Not that he is a Catholic, it is because he is hiding behind that being allowed forgiveness for his sins.  Again I don't have a problem with people being forgiven for their sins, the problem I have is with people knowingly committing sins with the plan of begging for forgiveness afterwards.  It shouldn't work like that.  It should only work in life and death situations.  Say you are starving and have no money and you steal food and need to ask for forgiveness afterwards.  That is fine in my book.  But in a game like this where it is for money and not life and death, when you plan to sin and ask for redemption afterwards, you should not only not be granted forgiveness, you should be punished twice as much.

Now the man Dan has aligned himself with, Brian also seems like he will do anything to win including being a weasel is fine in my book because he is not hiding behind his religion.  Does this make sense?

I like Jerry the 75 year old Marine, I just wonder if he has the smarts to last.  It appears as if he was already out smarted when Brian convinced him to keep Da.  Jerry wanted to nominate Dan and it was a good instinct to do so but he was convinced otherwise by Brian.  There was a pause after Brian asked Jerry to keep Dan, did Jerry figure it out?  I hope Jerry did figure it our and is keeping them both close for now.

It looks to be like a good season, I can't wait to see how it plays out.

I know its been a while, how's everyone doing?  It's been very rough for me as of late.  I haven't really been up to speed on the reality TV circuit.  I no longer have my good friend tivo nor do I even have proper Internet service.  I am stuck on dial-up for the time being.  I know, I didn't think anyone else still used dial-up.  So you can see why I haven't been updating as of late.  I did catch a few minutes of So You Think You Can Dance the other night and I saw Cat didn't say "jedges".  Why must you torment me so?  I also watched a bit of Last Comic Standing and this crop may be the funniest yet.  As a whole I think there's no doubt about it.

However, this is not the reason I write to you today.  I've been reading a lot about this horrible flooding in the Midwest and I thought about that and our upcoming Presidential Election.  Yes this is another political post.  What if one of the candidates decided to forego all of his campaigning and the huge money involved in the campaign process.  Instead what would happen if one of the candidates took all that money raised for campaigning and used it to restore homes and communities destroyed by this national tragedy.  In my mind that would show America that taking care of this nation is priority #1and would be worthy of my vote regardless of affiliation.

Onto some thoughts that have been nagging at me, and I wanted to get it out there. They are on two opposite ends of the spectrum but earth shattering none the less.

The first thought is under the premise that The Cheese is the Leader of the Free World.  Please refrain from any "hippie jokes" that will enter into your thoughts.  OK, so Cheese is the President and he's going to solve both high rising costs in everything and saving the earth with one brilliant idea.  Gas is ridiculously high and that is making all of the goods and services we purchase an inflated price as well.  So the bad news under my new plan is that gas prices will increase drastically.  The good news is that everything you buy will return to a decent price.

The first step in the plan is to raise the price of gas at least a dollar a gallon maybe more depending on what makes good economical sense, and I will explain what I mean in a moment.  The reason we, the consumer, will have to pay a larger price for gas is that all of the goods and services being trucked across the nation including public transportation will get gas price at a reduced rate.  This in turn will lower the cost of the things we buy, making it much more affordable to live.  I've heard people say to me they had a decision between buying gas or buying groceries and they picked gas.  They did eat, this person had ways to eat, just not buy groceries.  That should never be a question we must face, and if gas for the car is winning over groceries, we are in some real danger.

Well, wait Cheese, you also said something about helping the environment.  Yes I did, that was very astute of you.  With the way consumerism is killing this country we (Americans) need to since it appears many of us can not police ourselves, we need to have driving be a luxury, forced if have to, and raising gas prices that drastically is a good start to it but not the whole thing.  We need to get back those credits we used to receive for energy efficient automobiles like the Prius, and  we also need to reward people for carpooling and companies who promote carpooling to make people almost not afford not to.  Thus we would collectively drive less saving us from throwing all of our money at the pump.  We will also consume less of what we do not need.

That's not all, as an added bonus since people will be driving less they will at a majority stay close to home, and what does that mean?  It will strengthen communities, people may be able to get home faster due to less cars being on the road.  It even has an outside chance to be promoted as also strengthening families for that very same argument as with communities as people will be home more and together more, which could only be a good thing.

This on will help save Major League Baseball and since the Phillies are doing so well, we want that to happen.

What is baseball's biggest problem?  Other than being outdated and unwilling to change some things to reflect the times.  I'm not talking about drastic changes to any rules. I am however back at home where it all started, watching the Phillies and wondering how to get baseball's integrity back.  The answer is simply to remove all doubt. 

What does that mean?

It means I am asking myself with all of the progress in technology and what I mean specifically for this conversation when I watch baseball on television or when I wasn't able to watch the Phillies on TV so I would watch a game-cast online and in the gamecast, after each pitch it gives you the exact location of the pitch, I have seen technology on live broadcasts as well.  This would eliminate the home plate umpire.

You could also get rid of the other umps as well by putting cameras in the angles one would need to make a decision as they already do so that step is easy and done.

Baseball is the only sport that could try and get away with not having and on field judges, umpires, refs anything.  No other sport could possibly entertain the thought.  Not only could baseball try, I think it could truly work.  Sure there would be some kinks to the system and mistakes could be made or certain rules such as ball is in play at all times would need to be made.  What I mean is the players would play out any and every questionable call so when we would have to go to the replay a correct decision can be made.  Play it out and judge it later.  

I know many of you purists are cursing me and think I'm nuts but answer me this question.  Wouldn't going to these lengths to be the only sport to be able legitimize onfield play so never (after a small grace period) would anyone in baseball ever have to say a mistake or a wrong call was made be the best thing to let people know you are committed to regaining their trust?  Yeah I know baseball was made for judgment calls, but it really needs to get with the times and given their current predicament, their hands are kind of forced.
