Dancing with the Stars finale out does Idol Finale in ratings: Sanjaya brings Idol to it's knees
Dancing with the stars finale gets higher ratings then the American Idol finale and Idol can give the thanks to Sanjaya Malakar. it's funny how Sanjaya will be the one that brought down the seemingly impenetrable force that was American Idol. Thanks to Sanjaya and all the people that kept him in the competition for as long as he was despite him not being a very good singer will end up being the point where Idol starts dying and going to it's grave. People realize that Idol has hit it's peak and there's really not much more it can offer the viewers. I expect Fox to beat this thing until it's dead in it's grave and rotting.
I just truly love the fact that it will be Sanjaya who is responsible to bring Idol to it's knees. Will Idol ever be the same?

Kelly :
I think its hilarious that the ratings dropped after Sanjaya got the boot. A big slap in the face of people saying he was ruining the show. Actually I think its safe to say he saved this miserable season

You ought to do research before throwing out wild, inaccurate numbers out there.
According to "Variety", a widely respected source of entertainment news since 1905 and Nielsen Media Research . . . Dancing With Stars 4's Finale garnered 22.4M . . . Idol's Finale 6 got a whopping 30.7M . . . AND during the last half hour of Idol's Finale, the numbers jumped to 35.0M.
And BTW, on Tues when it was Blake/Jordin, Idol numbers were down to a paltry 24.5M (no Sanjaya that night).
Hmmm . . . 22.4M for Dancing 4 Finale; 30.7M-35.0M for Idol 6 Finale. Now, who's numbers are larger again?
To infer that "greener than an Irish shamrock" Sanjaya has brought ratings-buster Idol to it's knees, ascribes a huge amount of power to the youngster, dontcha' think?
In any case, it's amazing how it's reported that the 1st half of Idol 6 season outstripped it's last year's ratings UNTIL Sanjaya left. As soon as Sanjaya left, AI's ratings began falling, NEVER to match it's last year's numbers.
Perhaps your title, "Sanjaya Brings Idol to it's Knees", ought to say, "Sanjaya Kept Idol From Falling on it's Face". I agree with Kelly, Sanjaya saved this miserable season.
