About

Hi there, Welcome to CheeseSays.com, your best source for my personalized rantings on reality tv, sports, and whatever inspires me. I hope you find it amusing, entertaining, and maybe a little informational. First about me, I am a 29 year old guy who lives in Oakland CA, though I'm originally from Philadelphia, PA. I know, you’re thinking Oakland? This guy will be dead before he ever gets any momentum. Forget those preconceived notions about Oakland. There are actually some really nice parts, and I live in the hills with my amazing fiance Emily. You may know her from her blog about 'how to blog'. If not and you are wondering about how to blog, you should definately check out her site. It is very informative, and you can learn a lot from her. She also has some really funny pictures on another blog of hers that will leave you in stitches. Anyway, we have four cats, Marvin, Sophie, Maggie and Samantha. As well as three turtles, Eger, George, and Baby Bliss.

Asking yourself what’s with the title of my blog, “CheeseSays”?

Cheese is a nickname given to me by my old coworkers at the Medicinal Marijuana Cooperative that I used to work for. In case you didn’t know, in California, and a handful of other states (Alaska, California, Colorodo, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington) have legalized or decriminalized the use of Medicinal Marijuana. I worked for a company that distributed it for really sick patients. If you’re curious about the laws just check out this site: http://www.norml.org/index.cfm. Anyway sorry sometimes I go off on tangents. As I was working for this company, a few coworkers decided to start calling me cheesesteak as I am from Philly. It was a geographical nickname, and I grew to love it. It got shortened to Cheese and that’s why the title of my blog is Cheese Says.

I am a self confirmed TV junkie. Good thing I met a woman who loves TV just as much as I do. I really love reality TV and have a ton of opinions I will share as this blog continues to grow.

I am also a huge sports fan, being a lover of hockey (go Flyers!), a devout Eagles fan, and pretty much enthusiastic about anything sports related, with the TV tuned to ESPN or ESPN News anytime the Mrs and I aren't watching one of our Tivo'd shows (and yes, I can watch SportsCenter several times a day and enjoy it each time although my fave ESPN show is Parden the Interuption, or PTI). You'll get to read all of my many opinions about the latest in sports on Cheese .

As for sports that I personally participate in, I'm an ultimate frisbee junkie and play in regular pick-up games 2-3 times a week here in Oakland. I love rollerblading, and I'd love to bike ride but I'm in need of a bicycle. I also love to play hockey (on rollerblades) when I get the chance

Jeff G. :

Cheese is my little brother and he is hilarious. However, I am lactose intolerant so that sometimes causes problems with me and "Cheese". ; ) Seriously, Eric is one of my best friends. I am proud to call him my brother and friend.

Mama Cheese :

Cheese is my youngest son, and I can't believe how talented he is. He has always been a good writer, as he was editor of his high school newspaper. Also, Cheese always has an opinion about something - especially sports and TV. Cheese can explain sports to me and make it clear and exciting. This is the first time I've been to his site, and I am really impressed. He is direct, funny and very, very opinionated. I am really proud to be his Mom.

Raph :

Hi Cheese and Em, Greetings from Bunbury in Western Australia, a small coastal town where I have been sent to for a six month job. The place is treating me well, call not arduous, plenty of sunshine and beautiful sea. Trying to get a bit fitter, and today was my big day, a bike ride from south Bunbury to well north of Australind, return journey by my bike comp 63km - my legs are very sore. Personal life a bit flat at present. A girl I have been dating for the last two months pulled out a few days ago. Complicated shit - major project at work, moving house, long distance relationship, etc - in the end too hard. I am cool, lots of fish in the sea!
Anyway, keen to hear from you guys. Drop an email. Cheers Raph

Hi. I live in Lockport, NY. I also love tv! Last night the American Idol broadcast went off right in the middle of the show! At first I thought it was a dish problem, but all the other stations were fine. Bummer. Anyway, I needed to know how things went and ended up on your site. Thanks for being able to fill me in! I saw the Billie Jean performance on youtube it was GREAT! Even though I couldn't see all of the performances, at least I know who did what so-to-speak before tonight. I have marked your site in my favorites. I liked it! Thanks again.
